Purpose of the JobThe Accountant performs essential financial tasks including transaction entry, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. This position ensures day-to-day accounting activities are accurately executed in compliance with local laws and organizational standards, providing foundational support to the finance team and contributing to accurate financial reporting.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesTransaction Processing and Recording Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.Review source documents such as receipts, invoices, and disbursements for accuracy.Ensure timely posting of entries to appropriate accounts.Facilitate payments by preparing and entering transactions through the banking platform.Documentation and Compliance SupportMaintain accurate and organized financial files.Assist in preparing reports and schedules for tax filings and audits.Ensure transactions align with internal controls and local financial regulations.Account Reconciliation and ReviewReconcile bank accounts and balance general ledger entries.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.Assist in tracking expenses against project budgets.Team CollaborationCoordinate with colleagues in finance and other departments to gather and verify financial data.Support senior accounting staff as directed.Required Education, Experience, Knowledge And SkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.Proficient in English, both written and spoken.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint; advanced knowledge of Excel is required.Knowledge of accounting software is required. Knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus.Understanding of Egypt's accounting and tax regulations.Good attention to detail and organizational skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet multiple deadlines.
