Lafarge Egypt continuously seeks to meet the needs of a wide range of customers including but not limited to individual homebuilders, large construction companies, architects, or local artisans, powered by 1500 passionate employees.Overview The Planning & Scheduling Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution from inception to completion. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role provides technical expertise in planning, resource allocation, progress tracking, and risk analysis. The Planning & Scheduling Specialist collaborates with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to optimize project timelines, mitigate delays, and enhance overall project efficiency.Key Responsibilities 1- Health & Safety:Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.2- Functional: Project Scheduling & Control:Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in alignment with project objectives, milestones, and contractual obligations.Ensure schedule compliance by monitoring progress, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions.Validate baseline schedules, critical path analysis, and overall project timelines.Schedule Development & Optimization: Define work breakdown structures (WBS), sequencing of activities, and resource allocation to ensure project efficiency.Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress against planned timelines, generating reports for management and stakeholders.Risk & Delay Mitigation: Identify scheduling risks and provide mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.Coordination with Project Teams: Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to synchronize schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts.Resource Allocation & Productivity Analysis: Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.Contractual & Compliance Adherence: Ensure project scheduling aligns with contractual terms and regulatory requirements.Scenario Planning & Contingency Management: Develop alternative schedules to address potential delays and optimize project execution.Performance Metrics & KPIs: Define and track project scheduling KPIs, including earned value analysis (EVA) and schedule performance index (SPI).Integration with Cost Control: Align schedule planning with cost estimates to ensure budget compliance.Planning Software Utilization: Implement and oversee scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Technical Skills & Experience: Certification in project planning & scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP) is preferred.Technical Skills:Expertise in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.Strong understanding of critical path method (CPM) and earned value management (EVM).Proficiency in resource leveling, forecasting, and risk analysis.Knowledge of construction sequencing, methodologies, and productivity factors.Experience:Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.Proven ability to manage complex schedules and coordinate across multiple disciplines.Experience in integrating project schedules with cost control and risk management strategies.WHO ARE LAFARGE PEOPLE?Lafarge people are passionate about finding better ways to build.
